11/03/06	NBC Channel 4 - Creating Intelligent Parking Meters Company Creates Sonar-Equipped Parking Meters BETHESDA, Md. -- Parking meters are the quarter hoarding, ticket magnet, parking pains in the driver's seats that we love to hate, but now some parking meters have gone smart on us. Intellipark, a company in Bethesda, Md., has created a parking meter that knows when a car pulls into a space and it even hands out a free five minutes. Glen Hellman of Intellipark told NBC4 reporter Joe Krebs, "The difference between this meter and standard meters is that it has a sonar-based sensor that recognizes if there's a car in the parking space or not."
